Accuracy and updates

Corrections Policy

Dog Bite Atlas aims to correct material errors promptly when reliable information shows that published content is inaccurate, incomplete in a way that changes its meaning or materially out of date.

What may trigger a review

We may review a page when we identify or receive credible information about:

  • A statutory amendment or repeal
  • A relevant court decision
  • A change in an agency procedure or official form
  • An incorrect citation or broken official-source link
  • A materially misleading explanation
  • An attorney-listing detail that can be independently verified as inaccurate

How we evaluate corrections

We check the reported issue against the strongest available source. When a correction is justified, we update the page and, when appropriate, revise the visible review date.

Minor edits

Spelling, formatting, readability and non-substantive wording changes may be made without a correction notice when they do not alter the meaning of the content.

Material corrections

If an error materially changes the legal or practical meaning of a page, we may add or preserve an update note explaining the nature of the change.

How to report an issue

If you believe a page contains an error, please use our contact page and include the URL, the statement you believe is incorrect and, if available, the official or authoritative source supporting the correction.

Submitting a correction does not create an attorney-client or professional relationship and does not guarantee that a requested change will be made.
